Southern California Santa Ana Winds Weaken
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Santa Ana winds blowing through the Southern California mountains have weakened significantly and most warnings of extreme fire danger have been cancelled.
The National Weather Service says cold air that was expected to fuel another boost in the winds moved much farther to the east Tuesday.
Most red-flag warnings were cancelled Tuesday afternoon.
They remained in effect through Wednesday for mountains and valleys in Riverside and San Diego counties, where winds could gust to 45 mph at times.
Humidity remains low in the region and temperatures are still expected to be at least 10 degrees above normal for this time of year, with highs in the 80s in some areas.
