Southern California Drug Maker Ordered To Shut Down

LOS ANGELES (AP) - A federal court has issued an injunction shutting down a Southern California drug maker accused of violating the law in the manufacturing and distribution of dietary supplements.

The U.S. Department of Justice said Friday that Health One Pharmaceuticals Inc. has agreed to shut down and take steps to comply with federal law. A call seeking comment from company officials was not immediately returned.

The complaint alleged Health One violated the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act by failing to conduct proper tests during the manufacturing process. Its labels also failed to include all the required information.

Furthermore Health One is accused of selling drugs that had not been approved by the Federal Drug Administration.
