South Sacramento Home Goes Up In Flames, Family Displaced

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A family of four escaped flames after a blaze broke out in their south Sacramento home early Thursday morning.

The scene was near Florin Road and Cromwell Way. Fire crews made quick work of the flames thanks to a station is just a few blocks away down florin.

A second alarm was called out at one point and dozens of firefighters responded to the scene.

"There was also some spread to the foliage on either side. It was starting to get into the house on either side," said Chris Harvey from the Sacramento Fire Department.

Crews were able to stop the flames before they spread too far.

The fire did knock out some power lines. SMUD was on scene after the fire was out working to repair the damage.

No one was hurt and there has been no word yet on what started the fire.
