CHP: Woman, 84, Dies From Medical Emergency In Sonora Crash

SONORA (CBS13) — Officers say an 84-year-old woman suffered a medical emergency and died while driving in Sonora over the weekend.

California Highway Patrol says, around 11 a.m. Saturday, Sonora resident Susana Wesley was driving down Hess Avenue when she had some sort of medical emergency south of Phoenix Lake Road.

Wesley was able to pull onto the shoulder and stop, but for an unknown reason officers say her car started rolling backwards.

The car then went down an embankment and eventually stopped in a dirt and grass field.

First responders started lifesaving measures, but CHP says Wesley later died from the medical emergency she had.
