Wet Winter Won't Bring Price Break For SMUD Customers

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The Sacramento Municipal Utilities District says a record amount of precipitation moving through its hydroelectric operation.

The higher water won't mean a lower power bill, though. That's because the extra money generated will be put into a hydro-rate stabilization fund for dry years.

In other words, the same reason fees didn't go up during the drought is why there won't be a break during a wet year.
