1 person shot at McClatchy Park in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO - Police are investigating a shooting at McClatchy Community Park on Friday. 

The shooting happened just after 4 p.m. in the park, along the 3500 block of 5th Ave. in the Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento.

 When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim, who had at least one gunshot wound, according to a Sacramento Police Department statement. Fortunately, their injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening. 

There is crime scene tape set up around the spot where the victim was shot.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Police are actively investigating the incident.

McClatchy Park comprises 15.42 acres and boasts baseball fields, basketball courts, a disk golf course, a jogging patch, and various kid's play areas, the City's parks website says.
