Armored Truck Guard, Robbery Suspect Exchange Gunfire In Front Of Bank

SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) - Deputies say an armed guard and an attempted robbery suspect exchanged gunfire in front of a south Sacramento bank Friday morning.

The scene is along the 4400 block of Florin Road in front of a Golden 1 Credit Union.

There was an attempted robbery of an armored car near the bank, deputies say.

According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department, a Brinks Security guard was walking out of the bank and was approached by a masked suspect.

The guard and suspect then exchanged gunfire.

Deputies say the guard was shot once while the suspect was shot multiple times. Both have been transported to the hospital and are in critical condition.

The sheriff's department is now investigating if the suspect was working alone or with others.
