Multiple people shot at Howe Community Park in Sacramento County
Deputies are investigating after multiple people were shot at a park in the Arden-Arcade area on Saturday evening, officials said.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said it received reports around 6:30 p.m. of individuals at Howe Community Park possibly carrying concealed weapons, followed by another call about a potential fight and people running from the area.
Authorities said several hundred people had gathered at the park for what was described as an unauthorized event. Deputies were asked to clear the area and spent about 15 minutes making announcements over loudspeakers for people to leave.
That's when deputies reported hearing between 20 and 25 gunshots, sending people running from the park.
The Sacrament Metropolitan Fire District also responded to the scene and said at least four people were taken to area hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to moderate. The sheriff's office said all four were stable at last check.
Investigators said no information on a suspect was available at this time.
The incident remains under active investigation.
