Several Big Rigs Destroyed In Fire At Natomas Truck Stop

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Authorities are investigating what caused a fire that destroyed several big rigs parked at a Natomas truck stop Saturday night.

Roberto Padilla with the Sacramento Fire Department says that crews were called out to the 49er Truck Stop near Interstate 80 and West El Camino Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Firefighters found that two parked tractor trailers were on fire. A third truck was just starting to burn.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to other trucks at the stop, but the three already on fire were a complete loss.

About two to three other tractor trailers and a container box were saved by firefighters.

No one was injured in the fire, Padilla says.
