Eric Ciraulo of Capitol Ace Hardware in Sacramento says ahead of the wet storm, they're having trouble keeping sand in stock.

"It's going quick. Everybody's kind of jumping on it," he said. "By 4 p.m. yesterday we were completely out of sand. Sandbags are gone."

For many in the area, sandbags are vital to holding back unpredictable floodwaters from homes and businesses.

And it's not just this one store.

"Our warehouse which serves all of the Ace's in our area are out of all the different sand. Not just the play sand. All the pallets of sand are completely wiped out," Ciraulo said.

Even rakes for falling leaves are on the low side, but flashlights and batteries appear to be plentiful for now.
