San Joaquin County Event Organizer Wanted For 18 Counts Of Grand Theft

STOCKTON (CBS13) - A man behind a family event at San Joaquin County Fairgrounds this summer is wanted for 18 counts of grand theft after he allegedly skipped town before paying a majority of the event's vendors.

Melvin Monroe Adams operated under the companies "Next Level Concert Group" and "Blackstar Artist Management" when he contracted for vendors' services at the San Joaquin County Family Fair back in July. Vendors provided services such as food, sound, stage and audio equipment.

But when the event was over, Adams allegedly left with the proceeds from the event. Victims reported losses totaling over $170,000, according to a Stockton Police Department statement.

Adams is wanted on a $600,000 felony criminal arrest.

Adams has had offices in Las Vegas and in Southern California, and goes by the names Marvin Adams, Michael Allen, Kevin Johnson, Yusuf Adams, Yusuf Hyson, and Marvin Rose.
