Waverly Fire Grows To 12,300 Acres In San Joaquin County, Evacuations Lifted
Saturday. 6 p.m. UPDATE: The Fire is now 12,300 acres, CAL FIRE said it is 65% contained. Evacuations and road closures have been lifted.

10 p.m. UPDATE: The fire has grown to 4,000 acres and evacuations are still in effect from Milton Road to Rock Creek Road to Salt Valley Reservoir.
An evacuation center is open at Jenny Lind Elementary School.
Winds pushed the fire through the grass at a high rate, leaving farmers scrambling to save their animals.

7:20 p.m. UPDATE: The fire has grown to 3,500 acres and is burning southwest toward Highway 4.
The Jenny Lind Elementary School has been designated as the evacuation center. Animal services will be there to help with domestic animals.

6:45 p.m UPDATE: The fire has grown to 1,500 acres. Milton Road is closed from Highway 4 north to Highway 26. Evacuations have been ordered for the town of Milton.

The fire has nearly tripled in size in about an hour. It is 10 percent contained.
An air tanker has been sent to provide air support.
