Sacramento's Soggy Start To The Week A Welcome Sight During Drought

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A soggy start to the week was a welcome sight across the region likely leaving many wanting more.

A water-logged start to the work week stretched from the Sierra to the streets of Solano County, making for one busy afternoon. The first big storm of the season led to some risky business for some, and busted bikes for others.

Farther north, Jill Baird had a front-row view as Mother Nature ushered in rain, hail and snow.

"I was up in Colfax and we happened to stay up and kind of watch the storm kind of come in. It was really great," she said.

In the mountains, the storm meant carving out some quality father-daughter time and a snowball fight.

But it wasn't all fun and games for a big-rig driver who took out more than 150 feet of guardrail in the slick conditions.

Despite the snarled traffic on parts of Interstate 5 throughout the day, auto stores saw an increase in business.
