Sacramento's Curtis Park Named One Of Top 10 Most Desirable Neighborhoods In Country

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Out of about 200,000 neighborhoods in the United States, Curtis Park was named to a Top 10 list of the most desirable neighborhoods in the country.

In Curtis Park, there's room to run for Krystin Leonhardt's pups and her little guy, Logan, too. She thinks of the Sacramento neighborhood is a well-kept secret.

But that secret's out after the neighborhood made Redfin's 10 Hottest Neighborhoods of 2015.

Redfin real estate agent Matt Jones explains the appeal goes beyond the charm and character.

"Very rarely will you find two homes that are alike," he said. "You obviously have the beautiful park here. You have close proximity to Downtown, Midtown, Land Park, emerging Oak Park, you have transit access."

He points out that the neighborhood also has access and location at a fraction of the cost of nearby Land Park. Plus, Curtis Park Village will bring new homes and retail once it's built.

And potential homebuyers are noticing all of that, as Redfin relies on website traffic to come up with its Top 10 list. Page views on its website factored into the decision, as well as the number of homes users favorited on the site, and "hot homes"—a distinction the site gives to houses they predict will sell quickly.
