Sacramento Teen Killed In Crash In Iowa, Man Arrested For DUI

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- A 33-year-old man has been charged with the Des Moines crash death of a California teenager.

Online court records show Christopher Armstrong, of Ankeny, is charged with operating while intoxicated and with causing serious injury by motor vehicle. The records don't list the name of an attorney who could comment on Armstrong's behalf.

The accident occurred around 2 a.m. Saturday. Des Moines television station KCCI reports that police say Rose Dillard, of Sacramento, California, was turning her vehicle left to enter a gas station when Armstrong's vehicle struck the passenger side of Dillard's vehicle. The collision injured 16-year-old Jordynn Chapman, of Sacramento, and police say she died later at a hospital.
