Sacramento Suspect Captured In Elk Grove After Police Surround Home

ELK GROVE (CBS13) — A suspect was captured after trying to flee a home in Elk Grove.

Police captured the man after he ran out of the house at around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. He didn't make it far as a California Highway Patrol helicopter spotted him.

He was subdued with a combination of a police dog and a beanbag gun a few homes down from where he was holed up.

The suspect was wanted for alleged crimes in Sacramento.

During the takedown, an Elk Grove officer did suffer a canine bite to the upper arm during the arrest. He's expected to be fine.
