Sacramento, Stockton Among Best Summer Destinations For Budget Travelers
STOCKTON (CBS13) - Sacramento and Stockton beat out San Francisco and San Diego for 2016's "Best Summer Travel Destinations," according to one site.
WalletHub, a personal finance site, ranked US cities based on travel costs, local costs, attractions and weather.
Stockton residents agree their waterfront, food scene and steady stream of events would keep tourists busy.
"There is actually, like, a surprising amount to do in Stockton," said Stockton resident Christian Alexander.
Las Vegas, Salt Lake City and Orlando took the top spots.
"It's actually way better here and a lot cheaper than San Francisco," said Stockton resident Shaquoya Jones.
Sacramento placed 10th in WalletHub's list, while the Stockton-Lodi area placed 23rd -- just ahead of San Diego at 24 and way ahead of San Francisco at 46.
