Sacramento State Tops Incarnate Word In Texas, 49-13
SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Garrett Safron led Sacramento State to a 49-13 win over Incarnate Word on Saturday night, throwing for 251 yards and five touchdowns.
Nnamdi Agude, his main target, caught six passes for 111 yards and two TDs. Jordan Robinson was the leading rusher with 69 yards on 12 carries.
Incarnate Word scored on Ramon Cato Jr.'s two field goals in the first quarter. The Hornets jumped ahead 21-6 in the quarter, with Safron hitting Robinson from the 4 for a score, passing to DeAndre Carter from 33 yards out and hitting Agude with a 24-yard scoring strike.
The Hornets continued the pace as they gave Jody Sears, their first-year coach, a dominating win.
Incarnate Word never threatened after the first quarter as Sacramento recovered a fumble and Darnell Sankey picked off a pass, returning it 59 yards for a score in the third quarter.
