Sacramento State Rallies To Beat Northern Colorado 28-25

GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - Andre Lindsey took a reverse and cruised around the left side and into the end zone to take the lead as Sacramento State rallied to beat Northern Colorado 28-25 on Saturday afternoon.

Sacramento State (2-1) had never led until Lindsey raced in from the 39 for a 21-17 advantage with 6:23 remaining in the game.

The Bears were driving on the next series when Leonard Hazewood IV sacked Keaton Mott, forcing a fumble that was recovered by Elijah Chambers. That resulted in an Elijah Dotson's 3-yard touchdown plunge five plays later.

Northern Colorado (0-3) quickly responded with Mott hitting Noah Sol with an 8-yard TD pass. Mott then passed to Michael McCauley for two extra points for the final score with 1:35 remaining. The ensuing onside kick was recovered by the Hornets.

Kevin Thomson threw for 244 yards and a score for Northern Colorado.

Mott was 26-of-43 passing for 315 yards and two TDs.

Both teams are members of the Big Sky Conference but this did not count as a conference game.
