Sacramento State Holds Off Northern Colorado, Remains Tied For Second In Big Sky Conference

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Mikh McKinney scored 23 points and helped Sacramento State hold off Northern Colorado 66-59 on Thursday night.

Northern Colorado rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit and led 49-46 with 6:44 to go. McKinney then scored eight straight points and 10 in a 16-4 run for a 62-53 lead. The Bears responded with six unanswered points before McKinney added a layup and two free throws in the final 33 seconds to secure the victory.

Dylan Garrity added 12 points for the Hornets (17-8, 11-3 Big Sky), who set a Division-I era program record for victories with 17. The win also kept them tied with Montana for second place, a half-game back of Eastern Washington.

Sacramento State finished the first half on a 22-5 run to lead 29-22 at halftime as the Bears went 2 of 14 in that stretch.

Tevin Svihovec scored 16 points to lead the Bears (12-13, 7-7).
