Sacramento State Falls To Idaho, Remains Half-Game Back In Big Sky Conference

MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) - Arkadiy Mkrtychyan had 16 points, on 7-of-8 shooting, and Mike Scott scored 15 to help Idaho beat Sacramento State 69-58 on Saturday night.

Sekou Wiggs added 12 points, Connor Hill scored 11 and Paulin Mpawe grabbed nine rebounds for Idaho (11-12, 6-6 Big Sky), which made 27 of 48 (56.3 percent) from the field and outrebounded the Hornets 38-22.

Sacramento State (16-8, 10-3) got seven points from Mikh McKinney during an 18-7 spurt which tied it at 55 with 4:43 remaining, but made just one of its next eight shots and Idaho scored 14 of the game's last 17 points.

McKinney and Dylan Garrity, who came into game shooting a combined 43.6 percent from deep, led the Hornets with 15 points apiece, but combined to make just 5 of 20 3-pointers.

Sacramento State remains a half game back of conference-leading Eastern Washington, which lost to Portland State on Saturday.
