Sacramento SPCA Partnership Helps Seniors Pay Vet Bills For Pets

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Many seniors are forced to give up their family pets and companions because they can't can't afford to pay growing vet bills, but now the Sacramento SPCA has a program that provides financial relief.

Providing for four-legged family members can be a costly proposition, especially if you're a senior citizen on a fixed income. Overwhelming vet bills are a big reason seniors are forced to give up their loved ones, according to the SPCA.

But now the group has partnered with a national nonprofit organization that provides grant money to help pay for veterinarian care for seniors who can't afford it. Qualifying seniors can receive up to $500 in grant money to cover vet bills.
