Sacramento Republic Sell Out Rest Of Regular Season, First Playoff Game

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The Sacramento Republic have sold out their final two regular season games and their playoff opener, the team announced on Wednesday.

The Republic (26-6-4, 52 pts) has consistently sold out games at both its new home at Bonney Field and the larger venue Hughes Stadium. Earlier this season, it set a USL Pro record for highest attendance in a season.

The team is undefeated in its USL Pro games at home this season and is currently second in the USL Pro standings to Orlando City SC (18-4-4, 58 pts), a team moving to Major League Soccer next season. The Republic also has a goal of moving to MLS and will meet with officials later this month.

The Republic will play OKC Energy FC (8-13-5, 29 pts), on Thursday, a team it beat last month at home, but lost twice to on the road earlier in the season. The regular season wraps up with a game against the Republic's first opponent of the season, LA Galaxy II (14-7-6, 27 pts). The Republic have won twice against the Galaxy II and tied once.
