Sacramento Police Searching For Suspect Who Pushed Boy Off Bike In Theft

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The Sacramento Police Department helped make a child's day after he was the victim of a brutal bike theft.

The 5-year-old was riding his bike on the sidewalk on the 2300 block of Boxwood Avenue, when a man approached him. Police say the man pushed the child off his bike, grabbed the child's red and black Schwinn, tossed it into his truck and drove off.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a white Chevy S-10 truck. The image below was captured on a traffic camera.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his mid-20s, around 5'11" with short, black hair.

But the story doesn't end there. Through the department's Cops and Clergy program, the officers who responded to the initial call got the boy a new bike. He's the shy one on the left.
