Body Of Man With Gunshot Wounds Found In Paradise Beach Area

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Police say are investigating a homicide at Paradise Beach along the American River.

The Sacramento Police Department have been investigating the incident since late Tuesday afternoon. Officers say they got an anonymous tip a little before 5 p.m. about a dead body near the river.

Park Rangers and the Sacramento Fire Department helped officers in the search for the body due to the large area it could have been in. Searchers eventually found the body of a man near the south bank of the American River.

Police say the man looks to have been shot several times.

Detectives are at the scene collecting evidence. A motive and any possible suspects have not been identified at this time.

Authorities have not released the man's identity.
