SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Sacramento is rolling out a new campaign to find out what makes the city special, but it's hiring an out-of-state company for the pricey project.
While the city hopes the campaign will bring business and tourism to Sacrament, the decision to not hire local has many scratching their heads.
The city's search for Sacramento's Special Thing has it paying a Nashville company $60,000.
Locals CBS13 spoke to weren't happy with the decision and wondered why the city didn't look locally.
The city says it received four bids and two were local. They said they didn't choose the lowest bid, but the one that offered the most bang for the buck.
