Sacramento Kings Owner, Team Investing In USL Pro Champion Sacramento Republic
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The owner of the Sacramento Kings is looking to invest in the success of the Sacramento Republic.
Vivek Ranadive will not become a majority owner in the USL Pro team, but he and the Kings are investing in the Republic in its bid to become a Major League Soccer franchise.
Sacramento is in competition with bids from Minneapolis and Las Vegas for a potential team. The decision could come sometime in the first half of this year.
The Republic touted the investment as "just one more reason why we are Built For MLS."
