Sacramento City, Schools Employee Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Minor

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A Sacramento city and part-time Sacramento City Unified School District employee is under arrest, accused of sexual assault on a minor.

Joshua Vasquez, 31, was arrested on Friday. He is the program leader for the Sacramento's START after-school program and a part-time employee with the school district

Sacramento Police said it began investigating an alleged sexual assault at Mark Twain Elementary School on Tuesday. Police have said they are not releasing many details because of the sensitive nature of the investigation.

The school district said it has terminated the employee after hearing about the allegations, while the city initially placed the employee on paid administrative leave. Police say Vasquez resigned from his city job on Friday.
