2 pets die in fire at Sacramento apartment, firefighters rescue 10 others
SACRAMENTO – Two pets have died in a fire at an apartment in Sacramento late Monday morning, firefighters say.
The scene was near C and 25th streets. Sacramento Fire says crews arrived around 10 a.m. and found heavy smoke coming from a unit on the second floor.
Two residents were hurt in the incident; one of those people ended up being taken to the hospital, officials say.

Firefighters say a total of 12 pets were inside the apartment, but only 10 were able to be treated and saved by crews.
Exactly what started the fire is under investigation.
