Sac Fire Crews Mopping Up After Fire Along Bike Trail

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Dry and windy conditions fanned the flames along a bike trail near Del Paso Boulevard and Railroad Drive Friday morning.

The call came in around 5 a.m. and crews reported knock down just before 7 a.m. Sac City Fire says about 30 firefighters were in the trees and brush fighting the flames and flare ups. They've had to bring in and change out water tanks due to the lack of access along the trail.

Officers tell us there was a man at the location when crews arrives and are talking with him. No word so far on the cause.

Fire says there was a call out earlier this am for another fire in the area but it didn't amount to much. They confirm this is the second big fire along this trail in just two weeks.

Sac City Fire says that crews will be out at the scene for most of the morning and ask people to avoid the bike trail at Del Paso.
