Roseville Police Officer Shoots Suspect During Confrontation

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) – Police say an officer shot man during a confrontation early Friday morning.

The incident happened near Sunrise Avenue and Frances Drive. According to the Roseville Police Department, the officer was in a confrontation with 42-year-old Anthony Connally – a known probationer.

At some point during the confrontation, the officer shot at Connally – hitting him in the foot.

Connally was treated at a hospital before he was taken to Placer County Jail and booked for a probation violation and resisting arrest.

Per usual protocol following an officer-involved shooting, the incident will be investigated by the department and the officer has been placed on paid administrative leave for the time being.
