Roseville Police: Coyote Sightings Common In Maidu Park Area

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) – A coyote lounging around Maidu Regional Park has some residents concerned, but police say there's nothing to worry about.

The Roseville Police Department says numerous residents have been calling dispatch and animal control about a coyote roaming Maidu Park. Some of the residents say they're concerned because they're seeing it during the daytime.

However, police say it's perfectly normal to see active coyotes during the daytime.

Police are concerned about meat scraps and food containers having been found in the area, indicating someone might be feeding the animals. It is against the law to feed wildlife.

There is no need to call authorities about the coyote unless it is injured or acting aggressively towards humans, police say.
