Roseville Man Accused Of Adding Ex-Wife To Pornographic Images, Posting Them Online
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - A Northern California man faces 11 counts of identity theft after authorities say he superimposed his ex-wife's image onto pornographic photos and posted them online.
Attorney General Kamala Harris and Placer County District Attorney Scott Owens said Tuesday that Riley Bangerter pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned earlier this month.
The 36-year-old Roseville resident was arrested last month after the attorney general's eCrime Unit found he posted identifying information about his ex-wife on the explicit images. The charges say that violates the state law prohibiting the misuse of personal information.
His attorney, Fawne Gray, did not immediately return telephone and email messages from The Associated Press.
Harris created the eCrime Unit in 2011 to prosecute crimes involving the use of technology.
