Rollover Crash Kills 2 Teens Near Northstar Ski Resort

TRUCKEE, California (AP) - A single-vehicle rollover near Lake Tahoe has claimed the life of two Reno teenagers and seriously injured two others.

The California Highway Patrol says the 15-year-old driver of a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Gregorio Martinez-Reyes, was pronounced dead at the scene along State Route 267 shortly after 8:30 p.m. Friday.

The patrol said in a statement Monday the SUV left the road and flipped an unknown number of times before it came to rest in a field near Northstar ski resort southwest of Truckee, California.

A 16-year-old passenger, Miguel Ramos-Carillo, was taken to a Reno hospital where he later died.

Two other 16-year-olds remained hospitalized Monday with serious injuries.

The accident remains under investigation, but the patrol says neither alcohol nor drugs appeared to play a role in the crash.
