Robbins Fifth-Grader Accused Of Pulling Knife In Classroom

ROBBINS (CBS13) — A fifth-grader is accused of pulling a knife on a teacher inside a classroom, Sutter County Sheriff's deputies confirmed on Wednesday.

Parents contacted CBS13 after a note went home about the incident that happened at Robbins Elementary School on Monday.

Superintendent Laurie Goodman said nobody was injured in the incident.

"What I can tell you is that no kids were harmed, no adults were harmed," she said.

Still, parents were concerned the note didn't go home until two days after the incident.

Goodman says the students' parents, who were in the room when the incident happened, were contacted immediately. She says there are also concerns over privacy for the student, who will not return to the school, much to the relief of some students.

"I feel much better now, because if he would have tried to hurt other children or kindergarteners that would have been sad," said Uriel Quezada.

No arrests have been reported in the case, and a psychologist has been on hand for students who may need to talk about the incident.
