River Cats Miss Postseason After 2-1 Extra-Inning Loss To Reno Aces

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The Sacramento River Cats are out of the playoffs after falling to the Reno Aces on the final day of the regular season, 2-1.

Nick Ahmed hit a go-ahead, two-out single for the Aces in the top of the 10th inning, scoring Mike Freeman.

The Aces had three errors in the deciding game, two of which game in the seventh inning when the River Cats tied the game. Peterson hit a double to right field that turned into a run after a fielding error by the Aces' Brett Jackson and a throwing error by Chris Ownings on the same play.

The River Cats had trailed after a Blake Lalli single scored Roger Kieschnick in the fifth inning.

The Aces will start a five-game series in Las Vegas on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.
