Revolution Wines Placed On Probation After Grape Escape ReTweet

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Be careful what you Tweet and ReTweet, especially if you're a winery.

Sacramento's Revolution Wines learned that lesson after it Re-Tweeted the Sacramento Convention Center this summer, advertising The Grape Escape.

But since the Tweet mentioned the event sponsor, Save Mart, the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control says the winery violated tied-house laws.

Those rules prohibit producers from promoting retailers online or anywhere else.

The winery is on a one-year probation, and could face a 10-day suspension of its liquor license if it violates the law in the future.
