Reports: 49ers To Cut Darnell Dockett

According to multiple reports on twitter, Darnell Dockett, who signed a two-year, $7.5 million contract this offseason with the San Francisco 49ers, has been cut from the team.

The move comes after he reported a rib injury and only played in 18 snaps this preseason. Docket, a three-time pro bowler, missed the 2014 season with a torn ACL and hasn't played in a regular season game since 2013. Now that he is a free agent and able to sign anywhere, some speculated the pass rusher may return to his former team, the Arizona Cardinals. Despite rumors, its unlikely the Cardinals are interested.
