Report Of Student With Gun On Bus Prompts Lockdown At Turlock School

TURLOCK (CBS13) - A Turlock school was briefly placed on lockdown Monday morning after someone reportedly saw an armed student getting on a bus.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department says a witness called 911 just after 7 a.m. and reported they saw a student possibly armed with a handgun on a school bus in Turlock. The bus was on its way to Roselawn School, so the school was placed on lockdown.

Deputies spoke with the caller again and learned that the witness did not actually see the student, who looked liked like junior high student, get on the bus. The witness said they saw what appeared to be a gun in the student's waistband.

Several buses were and the school was searched, but no guns were found.

The lockdown has since been lifted.
