Report: Man Shot By Officer On Thanksgiving In Butte County Dies

PARADISE (CBS13) – A man shot by an officer in Butte County on Thanksgiving has died, according to reports.

Hospital officials told KHSL-TV Saturday evening that Andrew Thomas passed away. Thomas was shot by Paradise Officer Patrick Feaster early Thanksgiving morning as he was getting out of his wrecked SUV after a chase. Thomas reportedly walked toward the officer.

The shot hit Thomas in the neck.

Dashcam video of the incident was released in December. After prosecutors announced they would not be pressing charges against Officer Feaster, some enraged Butte County residents held a protest at the Paradise police station.

Further, investigators say Officer Feaster took 11 minutes to report he had shot his gun.

Thomas, who had a blood-alcohol level of nearly twice the legal limit, was facing a charge of vehicular manslaughter due to his wife dying in the crash.
