Kings Sell New Arena Naming Rights To Golden 1
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The Sacramento Kings have sold the naming rights to their new downtown arena to Golden 1 Credit Union.
Numerous publications, including Sports Business Daily, first reported the deal, citing unnamed team sources. According to the report, the deal is one of the largest in the NBA.
The Kings and Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson later confirmed the partnership at a Tuesday morning press conference.The arena will be named the Golden 1 Center.
"A big part of our mission statement and our commitment is touch the lives of the local community in a very positive way," said Kings Owner Vivek Ranadivé.

Golden 1 Credit Union touts itself as the sixth-largest credit union in the country, with over 700,000 members. The Sacramento-based bank was founded in 1933 as a credit union for California state employees.
Sleep Train owns the naming rights to the Kings' old arena in Natomas. Sacramentans probably best remember the arena as ARCO Arena. Sports bracelet company Power Balance also owned the naming rights for the old arena for a year.
The new arena is scheduled to open in October 2016.
