Report: Cousins Doesn't Think He Will Be Traded

According to Marc Stein of ESPN, Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins does not think he will be traded this season. Cousins spoke with ESPN.com following the 120-89 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.

"I talk to management a lot," Cousins said to ESPN. "We're on the same page. I'm not worried about it."

Cousins is a top 10 player in the NBA, but with his contracting ended at the end of the 2017-18 season, the longer the Kings wait to trade the big man, if they even want to trade him, the value will continue to decrease.

Talk about the Kings trading Cousins has been swirling for the past few seasons, but nothing has been enticing enough for the team to pull the trigger.

"To know that you're wanted throughout the league ... I'd be worried if nobody wanted me," Cousins said. "Then I'd have a situation on my hands. But I'm happy where I am. I'm happy with this team. I'm in a great place."

Often times, Cousins explosive attitude on the court is attributed to his want, and need, to win. He is clearly disappointed with the lack of winning by the Kings, however, as Stein explains, Cousins takes responsibility for the losing.

"I'm speaking for myself. What can I do better on a nightly basis? I know I can be better every night," Cousins said.
