REPORT: Browns To Hire Hue Jackson

According to Mike Silver of the NFL Network, Hue Jackson has accepted the head coaching job in Cleveland after previously interviewing with the San Francisco 49ers.

After a successful season as the Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator, Jackson will be staying in Ohio to coach the 3-13 Browns. He was supposed to have an interview with the New York Giants this week, but it appears Jackson has already made up his mind.

The Browns will have the second overall pick in the NFL draft this spring, but the front office is going to have to bring in a lot of talent if they expect to compete for a playoff spot in the AFC North.

The 49ers, however, thought highly of Jackson as he was on the short list to replace Jim Tomsula. After interviewing Chip Kelly, Tom Coughlin and John DeFilippo among others, the 49ers appear to be close to choosing their guy.
