Reportedly barricaded man prompts evacuations in Rancho Cordova neighborhood

Deputies say no one found inside home in Rancho Cordova standoff

RANCHO CORDOVA – Law enforcement officers were dealing with what they believed was a barricaded and armed man inside a Rancho Cordova home early Friday morning.

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office says deputies originally responded to the scene along La Loma Drive, just off of Folsom Boulevard, around 4 a.m. for a reported domestic violence incident.

Authorities evacuated some residents in the immediate area due to the situation. Deputies also believed the subject was armed.

A little before 9 a.m., gas was deployed inside the home and deputies entered.

No one was found inside, the sheriff's office says.

This is a developing story.
