Rain, Snow Expected To Fall In Our Region This Weekend

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The San Francisco Bay Area will see mainly dry conditions during the weekend before another storm moves in but forecasters say more rain and snow is expected in the Sierra Nevada.

The National Weather Service says the heaviest rain in the Sierra is expected in the middle of the day Saturday, when heavy snow is also expected in higher elevations.

The service says up to 2 feet of snow are expected to fall this weekend in areas above 7,000 feet.

It says rain and melting snow in the Sierra's higher elevations will cause rising water levels in small streams and rivers and increase the threat of flash flooding in areas above 3,000 feet.

Forecasters say another storm will hit the San Francisco Bay Area Sunday evening. It will mainly impact San Jose and areas to the south.
