Rail Car Near Sacramento City College Catches Fire

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Fire crews are investigating what sparked a fire in a train rail car.

Just before 2:30 a.m. Monday, fire crews responded to the train tracks near Sacramento City College. The rail car was fully engulfed when firefighters got to the scene.

The flames didn't appear to threaten any nearby structures.

Firefighters had some trouble battling the flames due to the rail car being sealed shut. However, crews were able to keep the fire to just the one car.

Due to the location where the rail car was located, between a subdivision and a construction site, investigators are calling the fire suspicious.
