Pres. Obama Flying To Calif. Tuesday For Democratic Fundraisers

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — President Barack Obama is flying into California on Tuesday for a pair of Democratic fundraisers in Silicon Valley and the Los Angeles area.

The president is scheduled to arrive Tuesday at San Francisco International Airport and spend the night in the Bay Area, where he and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi are slated to attend a fundraiser Wednesday at the home of real estate developer and major Democratic donor George Marcus.

Tickets for the lunch in Los Altos Hills start at $10,000 per person and go up to $32,400 for a couple, according to an invitation obtained last month by The Associated Press.

Later Wednesday, Air Force One will fly to Los Angeles, where Obama is scheduled to attend a Democratic National Committee fundraiser.

On Thursday, he plans to give a speech on the economy at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College.

Obama has made California, and especially Silicon Valley, a campaign hub as he seeks to raise money for Democrats in November's congressional elections.

He also made fundraising stops in the Golden State in May and June.
