Police: Suspected Shoplifter Punched Elk Grove Kohl's Employee In The Face

ELK GROVE (CBS13) - Police say a suspected shoplifter turned violent after being confronted by employees.

The incident happened Monday night at the Kohl's location along the 9600 block of Elk Grove Boulevard. According to the Elk Grove Police Department, Kohl's loss prevention spotted a man shoplifting.

Employees confronted the man as he was leaving the store and was punched in the face by the suspect, police say. The suspect also pulled out a knife before he took off running from the store.

Officers were called to the scene and a perimeter was soon set up. With the help of police K9 units, the suspect was found hiding in the bushes of a nearby home and was soon in custody.

Police have identified the suspect as 20-year-old Sacramento resident Felix Martin. He has been booked at Sacramento County Jail.
