Police: Robber Fatally Stabbed By Woman's Boyfriend In Stockton

STOCKTON (CBS13) – A man suspected of trying to rob a woman was stabbed to death, police say.

The incident happened early Sunday morning near East Oak and North San Joaquin streets. According to the Stockton Police Department, a 36-year-old man tried to rob a 53-year-old woman.

However, police say the woman's boyfriend came to her defense and got into a struggle with the suspect. At some point during the struggle, the woman's boyfriend stabbed the other man.

Medics pronounced the 36-year-old man dead at the scene, police say.

Detectives have interviewed the woman's boyfriend and have concluded that his actions may be justified. He has not been arrested.

The identity of the suspect has not been released as of Sunday night.
