Police Officer Hit By Car In Oakdale

OAKDALE (CBS13) — An Oakdale police officer was hospitalized after being hit by a car during an attempted traffic stop, authorities said Monday.

The Oakdale Police Department said the collision happened just after 2 p.m. on South 5th Avenue near J Street.

A separate vehicle was driving northbound on South 5th Avenue and made a left turn into the officer.

The officer, who was riding his motorcycle at the time, suffered minor injuries. The driver who hit the officer was not cited or arrested.
